The Royal British International School is a British international school in New Cairo, welcoming students from age 2 to 18. The curriculum follows the National Curriculum of England from Early Years through Key Stages 1–4, with adjustments for local and international context, and a pathway to IGCSEs in Year 10–11 with AS and A levels in Years 11–12. The Royal British International School teaches EYFS (Early years foundation stage), British Curriculum, Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, Cambridge A Levels for students aged 2 to 18.
EYFS & Primary Curriculum: Our youngest learners follow the Early Years Foundation Stage with strong emphasis on play, early childhood development and interpersonal skills. They progress to KS1 and KS2, where the National Curriculum of England underpins learning, with adjustments made to fit our local context and international culture. Secondary Curriculum: In Key Stage Three we implement the British National Curriculum, with English, Mathematics, Science, Art and Design, French or German, Humanities (including Global Perspectives), Music, Physical Education and Computing. Egyptian students study the Egyptian Ministry of Education Curriculum in Arabic, Religion and Social Studies; other students study Arabic as a foreign language. From Year 10, five IGCSE subjects are chosen, followed by up to two AS levels in Year 11 and potential A levels in Year 12 (Year 13 optional). Assessment in secondary includes Cognitive Ability Tests in Years 7 and 10, formal internal examinations at the end of each term, Year 9 sit the Pearson iLower Secondary Examinations in May, and IGCSEs at the end of Years 10 and 11 with AS/A levels in Years 11 and 12.

Safeguarding is a high priority; The Royal British International School is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all members of our community. The safeguarding structure includes designated safeguarding leads across the leadership team. Policies published include the Safeguarding Policy, Whistleblowing Policy, and Safeguarding Visitors' Brochure. These policies reflect Article 3.1 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and align with the British Government guidelines Keeping Children Safe In Education (KCSIE 2025). Admission is based on academic achievement, not age, with priority to siblings and to those from aligned schools. Admissions consider academic aptitude, space, and application date; other factors vary by case.
2. Submit the enrollment application and required documents on campus. Applications are accepted throughout the year subject to space. For Years 1–2, the Lower Primary Principal evaluates Foundation Stage and Year 1–2; Years 3–12 take CAT4 online in Literacy and Numeracy.
3. Submit required documents on the day of the assessment; remaining documents follow acceptance. Documents include Original Birth Certificate – computer generated (Egyptian Students); Photocopy of Passport (Non-Egyptian Students); Photocopy of the Father's ID; Photocopy of the Mother's ID; 6 Recent Personal Size Photographs; Applicant's Behavioural Reference Letter; Original Academic Records/Reports; Stamped attendance statement from previous schools starting from Year/Grade One. Additional copies may be requested.
4. Within Egypt transfers require a sequential MoE promotion certificate and a stamped School Transfer Certificate; Electronic Transfer from the previous school; MoE admissions letter for foreign students.
5. Transferring from abroad requires attendance statement; previous reports stamped by MoE and MoFA; MoE admissions letter for Egyptians and foreign students.
6. Tuition refunds: 10% deduction if requested before the year starts; no refunds after Term 2. Refunds are processed after a written request. If the school cancels a term, a full refund is issued; if the student cancels, no refund. A non-refundable Registration Fee applies; the first instalment is required in May to secure a place.
