Billing schedule and payment terms
- Standard instalment plan: 10 monthly payments (September–June), each instalment payable by the 10th day of the month.
- Lump-sum payment option is available; a lump-sum discount applies when used (see discounts). The specific lump-sum payment deadline is set in enrolment documentation.
- Indexation: the Institution may increase the annual maintenance fee each school year (effective 1 September) by up to a total of 10% without parental consent — a baseline 3% raise plus an additional amount tied to the official education-related consumer price index (the contract sets the calculation method). Parents will be informed in writing of any indexation by May 31.
- Consequences of non-payment: failure to meet payment obligations or overdue instalments may lead to termination of the student status at the end of the school year; the start of the next school year requires full settlement of prior-year obligations by 31 August or a written agreement to settle outstanding debt. If the student status ends during the school year, accounts are to be settled between the parties by the end of that month.
Discounts and reductions
- 5% discount for lump-sum (one-off) payment.
- 5% sibling discount (applied to the highest fee).
- 10% “Orchidea's own child” discount (applicable when changing grade level internally).
- 50% employee discount (for staff).
Boarding (kollégium)
- Boarding services are not published as part of Orchidea's kindergarten/primary/gymnasium provision; no boarding fees are listed for the school's three addresses. Orchidea's institutional descriptions and programme materials identify the school as kindergarten, primary school and gymnasium (no residential provision is listed). Therefore boarding fees are not applicable.
Other costs and fees
- Meals: an étkezési térítési díj (meal fee) is charged separately; current-year meal fees are published by the Institution and the payment for meals is made directly to the Institution. (Meal amounts are published separately for each academic year.)
- Examination fees: where applicable (e.g., certain external exam registrations), exam fees or official exam-related payments apply and are charged/collected as specified in the school's exam information (examples include national matriculation-related fees collected via the school's account).
- Extracurricular / programme costs: optional activities, international exchange travel and certain programme participation costs are charged in addition to tuition and are to be borne by parents when applicable.
Refunds and account settlement
- If a student's enrolment/ student status terminates during the school year, the parties must settle accounts by the end of that month. The contract requires full settlement of prior-year payment obligations before the next school year begins (or a written agreement to settle). Specific refund mechanics (for prepayments, pro rata refunds, or registration fee refunds) are handled under the Institution's contractual settlement procedures and enrolment documentation; when the student status ends mid-year the contract expressly requires month-end settlement between the parties.
Fee payment options and invoicing
- Bank transfer is the published payment method and the Institution's bank account number appears in the student contract: MBH Bank / account number 10300002-13731029-00014902 (payments and certain exam fees are payable to that account with the required payment references). Invoicing and payment requests (for example for participation fees) are sent electronically by the school's finance office.
- No separate published information about accepting credit-card payments or online card processors is shown in the institutional documents reviewed; the school issues invoices and requests bank transfers for fees.
(Notes: annual amounts above are presented as published for the 2025/26 academic year and are shown in Hungarian forints (HUF). Monthly instalment figures are exact divisions by 10 (the school's standard 10-month payment schedule). Approximate per-term figures are shown as the annual amount divided by 3 and are identified as approximate.)
