Kindergarten and elementary begin around 8:00 a.m.; Kindergarten is welcomed in the playground from 8:00 a.m., with classes starting by 8:15–8:30 a.m. End of day varies by level, with Kindergarten finishing around 3:50–4:00 p.m. and elementary typically at 4:00 p.m. on Mon, Wed and Fri, with earlier dismissal on Tue/Thu. Middle and high school hours include 5-minute breaks between classes and 20-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon.

Bus stops near the main entrance are Francophonie, Hildeg Von Bingen and Gerhard Mercator. The tram stop Lycée Vauban on the T1 line provides additional access.

No school transport is provided. Vauban offers morning reception from 7:30 to 7:50 for children in Petite Section through CM2, and a peri-scolaire (after-school) service with 20 places for maternelle and enhanced capacity for CP–CM2.

There is a dress code requiring students to wear clean, appropriate clothing.

Lunch is available but not mandatory. In the primary school, kindergarten pupils eat lunch in class, while other levels eat in the school restaurant; menus are prepared jointly by the educational community, the catering provider, and a dietitian. In the collège and lycée, the school operates a restaurant and a cafeteria; the restaurant is open to all students and offers a choice between external catering and a half-board option. The cafeteria is open from 7:30 to 15:15 and is located in the food truck during breaks and in the Mandela space at lunchtime.

The governance of Vauban is handled by the parents' association Vauban, Ecole et Lycée Français de Luxembourg, a non-profit association. It is governed by a Board of Directors with up to 9 parent administrators and up to 4 experienced administrators, and includes governance bodies such as the Conseil d'école and the Conseil d'établissement, along with a governance charter and association statutes. There is active dialogue with parents through these structures.

Vauban follows the French national curriculum as a partner of the AEFE network, offering a rigorous and challenging programme enriched by a wide range of language courses. The school provides a continuous education from kindergarten through the baccalauréat, with language learning emphasized from early years. From kindergarten, English and Luxembourgish are introduced; in later years, students may continue Luxembourgish or begin German, and can access additional languages up to seven foreign languages in secondary. Vauban places social and emotional development at the center of its approach. Class-life hours address topics such as prevention of harassment, responsible use of social networks, self-esteem, and the barometer of violence, contributing to a respectful school culture. The listening cell provides a confidential space for pupils in distress or conflict, and is supported by a protocol coordinated by two adults with families involved when needed. A dedicated health team—including nurses and psychologists—works on site to support pupil well-being and coordinate care with families and staff. The S-Team project, in collaboration with SCRIPT and CEPAS, trains students in mediation and citizenship to manage conflicts and promote prevention. An Accompagnement personnalisé (AP) program offers targeted, small-group support to help all pupils progress and build autonomy and resilience.

Vauban provides support for pupils with special educational needs (EBEP). A designated EBEP lead identifies needs, proposes pedagogical and educational accommodations, and ensures coordinated follow-up with teachers and families. When required, AESH (accompagnants des élèves en situation de handicap) assist in class to support learning. An individualized Plan d'Accompagnement defines adjustments for exams and classroom activities, developed with parents and the class teacher. Students can pursue two-language or three-language paths from middle school onward, with English always included and additional language options depending on the track. The cellule d'écoute offers a confidential space for students experiencing distress, conflict, or harassment, with a defined protocol and involvement of families when appropriate. Sophrologie sessions teach breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques to reduce stress, improve concentration, and promote confidence in learning. The school also runs structured class-time activities that address self-esteem, safety, and coping strategies to foster a calm and supportive climate. These measures are integrated with mediation and citizenship initiatives to promote holistic wellbeing.

The cellule d'écoute serves as a formal channel to identify and address sensitive situations, with a two-adult protocol and confidential handling, involving families where appropriate. The on-site health professionals and school staff coordinate to protect pupil welfare and respond to concerns promptly. The program includes explicit topics such as harassment prevention and safe use of social networks during class-life activities, reinforcing a safe school environment. The EBEP framework and associated supports ensure appropriate accommodations and follow-up for students with special educational needs, safeguarding their rights and well-being within the learning community.

1. Pre-enrolment for the next school year: Applications must be submitted online only, from the opening date, via the Start my online application button at the bottom of the page. This applies to all new students, including siblings of children already enrolled at Vauban. Prepare your child's pre-enrolment by reviewing curriculum descriptions per level, language pathways, and the fees simulator, and write a short personal message explaining why you want to join Vauban. A separate online file must be created for each child. 2. Re-enrolment of a Vauban student for the next school year: Re-enrolments are carried out online via the Restricted area (or by clicking the Re-enrolment button at the bottom of the page). Families will receive an e-mail specifying the start date for the re-enrolments. Re-enrolments for siblings must be carried out separately. 3. Admissions during the year: If you are considering enrolling your child at Vauban during the school year, our academic secretaries are available to answer your questions and advise you on your enrolment options. Admissions procedure: Open to all nationalities; Admission is open to students from other education systems as well as those coming from AEFE, France's education system, provided they pass the entrance tests. Only online applications with a complete file will be considered. The child's legal domicile must be in Luxembourg at the start of the school year, though the school may consider other situations, subject to available places. Admission in Petite Section (age 3 by 1 September) is available. 5. Confirm your enrolment: An enrolment is considered final once the €600 deposit is paid by bank transfer within eight days and all necessary documents are submitted online according to the instructions above. AEFE scholarships are available for families with French nationals attending Vauban in Luxembourg and are awarded based on a social assessment of the family's resources and assets. General conditions include being French nationals, residing in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and being registered in the Registry of French Nationals Abroad; children must be at least 3 years old by the rentrée. Since this year, scholarship applications can be submitted directly on the Scolaide portal; information and guidelines are also available from the Ambassade de France and AEFE. Vauban also administers a Solidarity Fund, which provides individualized financial aid; the Fund is managed by Vauban's Scholarship Commission, which meets twice per academic year, and requests are handled through the Accounting department.

Waiting list: If a place cannot be offered at a given admissions committee meeting, your application will be placed on the waiting list and carried forward for review at the next committee meeting. There is no order of priority on the waiting list. Late applications submitted after the deadlines may be reviewed before the start of the school year, subject to remaining availability.
